About Azulado
Azulado is a digital sovereignty intelligence platform that helps Europeans understand and control where their data flows.
Our Mission
In an increasingly connected world, understanding who controls your data has never been more important. We believe every European has the right to know where their data lives, who can access it, and under which jurisdiction it falls.
The Azulado Score
Our proprietary scoring methodology rates companies on a 0-100 scale across two dimensions: Operational Sovereignty (50%) and Corporate Sovereignty (50%). The Azulado Score covers server locations, corporate jurisdiction, ownership structures, and data processing practices for 462 companies and growing.
How We Work
Our platform combines automated analysis with manual expert verification and community input to provide accurate sovereignty scores. Scoring is primarily automated — covering data residency, hosting infrastructure, and corporate jurisdiction — with manual verification available for critical vendors and edge cases. For organizations with stricter compliance needs, a professional sovereignty audit is available on request via our Enterprise plan. We track:
- Server and infrastructure locations
- Corporate headquarters jurisdiction
- Ownership and investment structures
- Data processing and storage locations
Founded by Bruno Sanchez-Andrade Nuno
Bruno is a data scientist and technologist with experience at the World Bank, NASA, and the Gates Foundation. He founded Azulado to bring data-driven transparency to European digital sovereignty — because compliance shouldn't require guesswork.
Privacy by Design
We practice what we preach. Azulado operates with a "Privacy by Design, Share by Choice" philosophy. Our browser extension works locally by default, with optional community features that you control.
Transparency & Trust
Azulado is a proprietary platform developed with a focus on transparency. While our software is not open source, our scoring methodology is publicly documented and open to community review through our Verified Consensus Protocol.
